I spent 2 hours at this very recent luxury addition to the sporting life of Barbados, Lion Castle Polo Club, in the company of relatives from the north. The contradiction of unseasonably chilly weather and the embrace of brilliant sunshine, added to such august surroundings, made this a new experience for me. For that short time this afternoon I truly was in a foreign country. To be fair, I passed a laid back afternoon in the luxury clubhouse, training my lens (for the first time) on the once imperial game of polo. These are my best results. It is clear one must be more familiar with the game (its rules, the fine creatures being put through their paces by riders in pursuit of a moment's glory) to really do it justice pictorially. Perhaps I'll try again next week!
